The SEN Self-Evaluation & the Effective SENCO CD is a time saving management tool that provides all SENCOs in both primary and secondary schools with a system that will thoroughly evaluate the effectiveness of their school’s SEN policy.
This CD works in conjunction with the School Self-Evaluation & School Development CD and is based on a three stage model that will enable SENCOs to:
-
audit the SEN policy.
-
produce a SEN Self-Evaluation Report.
-
produce a SEN Development Plan.
-
produce an on-going record of the SENCOs role.
The Code of Practice maintains that headteachers and governing bodies must give careful consideration to the SENCO's timetable by giving them time to:
-
plan and co-ordinate.
-
manage and train support assistants.
-
undertake classroom observation.
-
liaise with teachers, parents, schools and outside agencies.
The SEN Self-Evaluation & the Effective SENCO CD covers 17 different areas and consists of 78 files which includes a Record & Development File that provides numerous strategies that will greatly support the new or the most experienced SENCO in making their role more manageable.
