LCP was started in 1993 by Ron Gellért-Binnie and Rita Smith as a modern languages publishing house. Since then, the company, while maintaining an ever-stronger position in the modern languages field, has diversified into other areas of the school curriculum, especially within the primary school sector.

From small beginnings, the company has moved several times, and now occupies some 12,000 square feet of warehouse and office space in Leamington Spa. Still privately owned and run for the benefit of teachers and students throughout the UK and beyond, LCP is one of the UK’s most successful educational publishing houses.
