Differentiation through questioning and by task is a commonsense approach that will benefit both the teacher and the pupil. It should not involve additional written planning, and will encourage all pupils to use appropriate techniques to respond to questions.

The Differentiation – an INSET Training Programme CD will give the participant:

• knowledge of the different types of questions and their purposes

• knowledge of how to respond to pupils' answers

• skills in identification of present zone of effectiveness

• use of a skills continuum

• skills in suiting tasks to areas for development
